Over the last three seasons, this initiative has translated into real-world impact. So far, Bonnie Wee Golf has helped fund the removal of 1,800kg of ocean-bound plastic – that’s roughly the same weight as 63,000 plastic bottles.
To put that into perspective. That’s the weight of nearly 13 golf buggies, or about 22,500 golf balls, if you prefer something a bit closer to home.
Bando’s ‘1 for 1kg’ initiative means that for every product they sell, a portion of the profits goes directly to ocean-bound plastic collections through their partner EcoWorld. The funds help support the locals through paid work and also give them recycled materials to create and sell their own products.
It’s one thing to talk about sustainability. It’s another to turn every purchase into a contribution towards real change. With Bando, we’re doing just that – proving that a game rooted in tradition can still evolve for the better.
